 I am proud to present, Undivided Magazine. I am more than excited about how my project came out, and even more excited for others to review it.  The initial goal of my magazine was to celebrate the underrepresented and embrace our differences. I hope those reviewing it, recognize my attempt of displaying individuals that were underrepresented. My magazine has reached this goal. Magazine Link  (click)

This week, my class and I presented our projects to each other than ultimately gave constructive peer reviews. While doing this, I received both good comments on things I did well, and also constructive criticism on what I could do better on. To begin with, a popular comment that I received on what executed well was my understanding of my audience. Furthermore, when composing my magazine, my classmates believed that through my images, graphics, and even font, they could tell clearly who my audience was. Which were young teenagers to young adults. They also mentioned that they loved my title and that it conveyed the message I was trying to send. I had also received comments about how my magazine looked as if could have actually been one sold in stores. Although I was overall proud of my magazine, I was nervous upon presenting my magazine to my class. But now that I have received my comments, I am very pleased with the reaction that received.       This week was a productive one. I got casting done, some shots, and even started to edit a bit. Aside from learning the ways around InDesign, casting people was also something I was nervous about. Because of the world pandemic, it was expected that casting was going to be a bit harder to make happen but I got through it. I ended up casting 5 people and we met our highschool to began taking pictures! I included some shots from this week below. There were some complications, like someone not showing up, but I had someone as a backup for the missing person. The shoot was fun and I am extremely pleased by the results. I also started to play around with the coloring of the photos. I am close to done with my first draft of the essay in preparation for my peer review. So far, I am proud of the result. I look forward to hearing my classmate's feedback. 

      Last week, I was practicing on Indesign preparing for the editing of my shots. Now that I have a basic understanding of the software, I want to further practice placing text but with inspiration shots. Because I haven't been able to go out and take shots yet, I want to get a basic idea of what shots I can take when the time comes. I used Pinterest for some inspiration (down below), I was looking for group shots to adhere to my "inclusive" and "diverse" theme. Specifically, I was more intrigued with birds-eye angles because I feel like the vibe matched the vibe my magazine was going for. When I found some that I liked, I took them to Indesign and applied what I had learned the previous week. I was mainly focusing on the cover and where the text could fall on the page.
